This book provides a practical, step-by-step guide to the application of GeoStudio (Ver 2004 and 2007) for modeling and analyzing earth dam engineering problems. Through realistic examples, the book covers stress–deformation, seepage, slope stability, and dynamic analyses of both homogeneous and heterogeneous earth dams.

The authors are two experienced civil engineers specializing in the analysis and design of geotechnical structures. With more than twenty years of professional experience in engineering consulting firms, they have been involved in the analysis and design of a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects, gaining extensive practical experience in the application of analytical methods and engineering software. Alongside their professional activities, the authors have also been actively involved in teaching geotechnical engineering. Their combination of academic knowledge, professional experience, and teaching expertise has enabled them to present the concepts and procedures in this book from a practical and application-oriented perspective, with particular emphasis on the use of GeoStudio for the analysis of geotechnical problems and earth dams.
